RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) - Germany

RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering. It offers unique opportunities for undergraduate students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of 2 to 3 months during the summer. RISE interns are matched with doctoral students whom they assist and who serve as their mentors. The working language will be English. All scholarship holders receive stipends from the DAAD to help cover living expenses, while partner universities and research institutes provide housing assistance.

HASCO (Hadron Collider School) - Germany

HASCO offers a summer school program for Bachelors, Masters and PhD students who wish to learn more about elementary particle physics. Students will be trained in state of the art data analysis techniques and physics through a combination of lectures and tutorials. Our very own chair Claudia Clarke attended the program and recommends it to everybody interested in the field.

Helen Edwards Summer Internship at Fermilab

The Helen Edwards Summer Internship program is a 10-week opportunity for students majoring in physics and engineering at universities in Europe. Interns work with Fermilab scientists and engineers at the frontier of scientific research in physics and particle accelerator technology.

Summer Internships at MPIA

The MPIA offers up to six positions for internships every year to bright bachelor and master students who desire to acquire hand-on experience of research and instrument development in astronomy, or wish to fullfil their degree's requirement. We encourage especially students from developing countries to apply, because at least two positions will be awarded to students from these countries.
